Benjamin Franklin McAnally, 80, of Tyler, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013 at Hospice Home Place.

He was born October 27, 1932, in the Campground community, Hunt County, Texas to the late Benjamin Franklin McAnally and Effie Pearl Mason McAnally.

He is survived by spouse, Janell Burnett McAnally of Tyler; Sons, Benjamin Franklin McAnally III and wife, Beverly of Abilene and William Hobert McAnally and wife, Daila of Fort Stockton; Stepson, Tal Glenn and wife, Holly of Tyler; and Stepdaughter, Tami Glenn Fink and husband Rainer of College Station.

He is also survived by Grandsons, Benjamin Franklin McAnally IV and wife Elizabeth of Abilene; and Blake William McAnally of Abilene, Granddaughter, Elyse Lee Lewis and husband, Patrick of Abilene; and Stepgrandsons, Michael and Stephen Fink of College Station.

He was preceded in death by brother, Durwood McAnally and sister, Mary Elizabeth Elliott.

Ben graduated from Terrell High School, Terrell, Texas in 1949; Bethel College, McKenzie, Tennessee in 1953; Memphis Theological Seminary in 1957 and Vanderbilt University in 1959 (Master of Arts, Sociology of Religion).

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army.

He was a Presbyterian Minister and served churches in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and East Texas. He had recently observed the 60th year of his Ordination.

There will be a Memorial Service on Friday, March 15, 2013, 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Tyler with a reception afterwards to greet the family. Interment will be the following day at Campground Cemetery, Terrell, Texas. Services will be conducted by Dr. Stuart Baskin, and Rev. Tom Loden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church or The Hospice of East Texas Foundation.

The family wants to thank the staff of The Hospice of East Texas Home Place for their very loving care during his final days.
