A memorial service to celebrate the life of Charles Evans “Red Rooster” Beam, 80 on Tyler, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Cross Brand Cowboy Church with officiating. Local Arrangements are with Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.
Mr. Beam Passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 in Tyler. He was born May 12, 1933 in Whitehouse to the late Jean Farrell and Jessie Pearl Barron Beam. He brokered oilfield equipment in Oklahoma and Texas for many years before opening Red Rooster Auto Salvage in Tyler in 1984, which he ran until he retired in the late 90’s. He loved people, buying and selling car parts and scratching lottery tickets. He could always bring a smile to your face and he will truly be missed by many.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gena Margaret Beam and four brothers, Jean, James, George and John Beam. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Beam; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Richard Mervin and Lisa and James Jewett; two step-sons, Jesse and Marcus Esparza; one sister, Rebecca Ann Beam Smith; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
