perry_pic_1_001perry_pic_2_001Funeral services for Merle Jackson Dickson Perry, 88, formerly of Tyler, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at New Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brooks Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home.

Merle was born June 17, 1923 in Brownsboro to the late Earl Ansley and Velma Mae Debnam Jackson and passed away on January 21, 2012. She was a devoted Christian, mother and grandmother. Merle was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and a former member of New Hope United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Guy Dickson and Aubrey Perry; two step sons, Grover and Gary Dickson; two brothers, Tilmer and Ward Jackson; and a sister Gladys Bell.

Merle is survived by her sons, Arlen Dickson and wife Jo of Horseshoe Bay and Ron Dickson and wife Doris of Victoria; a brother Chester Jackson and wife Wanda of Brownsboro; sisters Joyce Mick and husband Larry of Bedford and Jean Robertson and husband Billy Joe of Malakoff; five grandchildren Kimberly Dickson, Melanie Main, Chad Dickson, Jennifer Zukauskas, Sara Dickson; seven great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Jackson, Randy Cotton, Keith Robertson, Greg Jackson, Terry Moffett and Danny Jackson.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2012 at the funeral home.
